This week!! WOWZERS
I had completely forgotten about this amazing interview!!! SO beyond thrilled to share this article on my lockdown project!!!
So lockdown eases on Wednesday, I’ve been awake since 4am , I’ve sipped a couple of cups of green tea and before I potentially return to snoozing I wanted to share a couple of images from the last week.
I’m still walking but unfortunately not as frequently as LD1.0 - this week however I managed to capture a stunning sunset or two and being back in nature really flexed a muscle and fired off all the good vibes, it’s such a tonic. The second half of this lockdown has felt at times like walking thru treacle whilst coated in marshmallow + reminding myself that it’s ok to take a breath and just breathe, whilst sounding so simple, has proved rather more trickier for some reason (I’m not searching for the answers to my resistance- I’m still trying to breathe lol) but positives and silver linings abound.
chatting to friends overseas via FaceTime/ FB video - SUCH a joy
fresh air - ALWAYS
meeting new businesses opening up on the high street in my town - exciting!
photographing Christmas for Alitex - a super cosy, divine photo shoot which included coffee + mince pies - what’s not to love!
Have a lovely week everyone! x
yipiiiiiieeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!
Hi Everyone!!
How you are all doing? Happy Friday xx
Sooo after about 10 days of lock down within lockdown where I pined myself to my office chair and designed, un did, redesigned and adjusted, I am thrilled to share my new look, updated website!!
HEAD SHOTS WEDDINGS FAMILIES PRODUCTS EVENTS
Please let me know what you think!!
So as lockdown eases, mask, hand sanitiser + camera in hand I will be back photographing again - HORAH!
The first couple weeks I will be social distancing with pre booked clients who were moved due to lockdown then from mid July onwards I am taking bookings for outdoor family sessions so please email me or call to book your dates.
I‘m super excited to see you all again and start capturing your summer sessions,
Happy Friday! Hugs Jackie xx

We will set your location, time of day (earlier the better to avoid the crowds and have it be more of a quiet personal moment) Cheers and congratulations from passers by is ALWAYS so heart warming too though!! + I always find it’s best to have a scenario where I offer to take a photo so you can use that as your prompt to get ready to drop down on one knee! following your proposal we can capture engagement pictures.
Following a chat over the phone I create a plan for us to ensure your proposal goes as smoothly as possible.
Proposal sessions can be booked in 30 / 60 or 120 minutes session slots, just get in touch with your planned date + we’ll go from there!
Soooo this week, just like last seems to have whipped by in a flash- it’s been intersected by rain, the odd look at the news + punctuated with power surges of productivity that I’ve been shocked by and had to rest from afterwards, funny ol business lockdown.
I’ve swung from missing hugging people (I’m a hugger) to considering I might not even want to leave the house when this is over let alone squeeze my friends in delight. Perhaps my hugging personality trait will be defunked post lockdown. I’m going to ponder on that……
This Friday I just wanted to check in, see how everyone is doing, connect, smile + say ‘Hi’ :-) I’m sharing a couple images here from my week, the top one - a snippet of a hidden corner of London <3 swoon the neon sign and moodyness!! The second a project from my garden and the debris I collected whilst tidying it up a couple weeks ago, it’s amazing what you ‘see’ when you actually look!
So I hope whatever you’re up to this evening you’re enjoying yourselves, stay safe, stay home, BIG (virtual) HUGS xx
I had every intention to post last night, to sit down and enjoy writing about the week, Andrea + Wes’s beautiful proposal + finish off Friday, sunny side up - but when it came to it, words just weren’t there and I didn’t want to half ass it.
So here I am fresh as a daisy - Saturday morning after two photo sessions in London, sun is shinning + I’m heading home to my first Xmas party of the season! I’m very excited, it’s bowling and mince pies - what’s not to love!!
I worked with Wes to pick the perfect spot for him to propose to Andrea a few weeks ahead of their trip to London. We planned our interaction, me casually offering to take a photo of them and bosh, Wes got down on one knee and Hey Presto!
Following the shock, delight and utter happiness, we continued creating engagement pictures around St.Dunstans before walking along to The Tower of London + Tower Bridge where the light was super pretty (the north side of the river is always dreamy to photograph at in good weather as the sun rises the other side).
We found lots of fun doorways and textures to mid in with the epic iconic backdrops London has to offer and had so much fun!
If you’re planning a trip to London or a proposal over Christmas, do drop me a DM or call to discuss your plans and ideas + I’ll take it from there!
Right after Joe + Joanna’s wedding I took some time off to recharge and celebrate my birthday - a complete treat + such fun :-) I ate cake, saw photography exhibitions and got super inspired, hung out with friends, disconnected from work + hit the gym in an invigorating, right back at it kinda way - it felt amazing + refreshing. I swam in warm outdoor pools, pondered life in sizzling hot sauna’s and slowed down enough to regain that sense of presence, It was such bliss and set me up perfectly for getting back in to work for the last few weeks of the year and Winter.
Mum makes an epic cake + this beauty was totally #Vegan! She even made vegan lemon curd for the filing!!
Duffy at Mottisfont Abbey! An amazing and inspiring exhibition to catch on the last day :-)
Yes there’s no escape lol there’s frost on my car right now + for once I’m hybernating on a Friday night tonight cooking yummy food and delighted to be in out of the cold!
This week I have been chatting over on instagram about getting the most out of your session in WInter and Top Tips on ‘What to Wear’. Not only does this time of year make bright colours pop a little bit more it also can create long shadows + soft golden hours at each end of the day - just like D’s session above as we rambled around London to celebrate her 10 year wedding anniversary!
More on both of these to follow this week!
Have a super weekend everyone x
SO Max arrived + well any intention to capture quiet newborn pictures went right out the window - we LAUGHED so hard and so much through this session, the calm was there but the laughter took over + isn’t that such a great feeling + what it’s all about!! Going with the flow, adjusting and being responsive to the moment. The joy + inquisitiveness of your new older sister, the happiness of parents, the wide eyed “just arrived” feeling.
Soooo. I have been trying to post this for days, literally since last Wednesday. Poor Amy she must be going crazy wondering where her lovely post is - well, here’s the thing - I have re-arranged, reshuffled, edited, added, taken away + NOTHING seemed to give (to me) adequate justice to just how much emotion and feelings were in John + Amy’s wedding. + esp The Romance, the Light!! + The love, until now.
Amy gave me so many beautiful compliments for her wedding photography I wanted to include this too as I had to re-read her lovely message a couple of times and sit down and read it over again. I always strive to do my best on each wedding day + each wedding day is a live event so anything can happen at any given moment and so to touch or make someone smile by capturing their day makes my heart burst x
Getting ready, those fun and sometimes frantic moments of preparation and then THOSE moments when you’re in your dress + your brother arrives + you take his breath away. Matthew + their Dad shared duties of giving Amy away + they both did such an amazing job!!
In the stunning outdoor setting of Ness Gardens, Amy’s older brother walked her to their Dad and he walked Amy up the remainder of the Aisle towards John.
Open Air ‘I do’s’ + a very sophisticated bridal party!!
NOW THESE DETAILS!!!! Hello, rocking the blue, the wedding favours which were packets of seeds (epic) the cake topper and the flowers…so much romance interlaced.
THIS PICTURE! I get as a viewer of this blog you’re only seeing snippets of the entire day but I hope it conveys the romance and happiness + the feeling of family centred love and the speeches always hold a lot of pressure for those delivering them and cross the spectrum on funny, crazy, embarrassing + loaded so THIS picture makes me tear up every time .
Unsure if he would be able to deliver a speech, Amy’s dad has been a little poorly so he and her older brother shared the moment - a moment arrived when Dad felt he was able + there was not a dry eye in the house, the sentiment + love radiated from him + I need another tissue again now……..
As day merges in to evening, the light (AMAZING LIGHT!!) changes and guests mingle, chuckle, have fun and catch up I was able to scoot around + capture some family fun and THEN Amy + John took themselves off for a little walk……..so divine + a peaceful breather before dancing, cake cutting and evening guests arrived……
First Dances can be soft r dramatic and I love how the blue lights capture these two perfectly and match their colour scheme!!!
Ahh and so Friday nights….September already and the weather is feeling crisp and warm all in the same day but Autumn is definitely on the way so it’s perfect (in my opinion) to be posting a wedding with such beautiful hues and tones and which had a day much like weather we are experiencing now, high chance of rain, clearing to heat and then super chilly evenings lol
Enough weather comparisons lol It’s the whole feeling of family love I LOVE about this wedding, and the details and the smoke and the colours and the love and did I mention the LOVE???? #sighs + I don’t think you’d guess the reception was in a grain store!!! or the cake constructed on site!! I know, it’s epic!!!
SUPER CONGRATULATIONS Bindi & Maarten xxxxxx
AND I’m beaming because I’m also thoroughly delighted the short film I worked on in April in Dublin had a screening this week, unfortunately I wasn’t able to get back to Dublin for it BUT I was most definitely there in spirit :-) + I’ve been made up that the poster is a combination of two of the images I took as ‘Stills Photographer’ - I can’t wait to get my hand’s on an actual paper copy too - I’m going to pin it up in my office, I might even frame it!
Patricia wrote, produced + directed this film and what a talent to be able to do all three! She + I met in 2000 on set of a feature film in the depths of Dublin, it was an ‘experience’ and firm friendships were definitely formed, the kinds were an event bonds people and that shared hilarity/crazyness/dancing/cocktail experience means those friendships even if not seen every day, still remain and make you smile when you see that person or people again.
I remember Patricia constantly writing back in the day and so you know when you are just beyond thrilled to witness their journey and see the process unfold, it’s such a blessing to cheer them on and working alongside Patricia again was wonderful. I’m pinching myself in fact because even though 19 years ago I clearly remember the ‘professional’ photographer coming on set to take the pictures for the poster, DVD case etc…..Now full circle I was taking those shots.
I guess it means more when you circle back to where it all began and a bold move + sense I had to make a change, trusting my heart that it’s whispering ‘you need to do this’ even when I couldn’t see how it was going to turn out - but letting it unfold at it’s own pace, ended up changing my entire life.
So I’m chuffed to pieces for Patricia + super chuffed to have captured the stills for her + see them take on new life in the form of the poster + I’m excited to see where this goes x
So I know, acknowledging our achievements, actually sitting with them for longer than a couple of minutes, doesn’t always happen. We are pleased, we smile, we rush to the next job, piece of work, we perhaps feel bashful (imposter syndrome kicks in and in our minds we’re delighted but don’t want to appear gloating or show off-y) and as a way of ensuring that doesn’t happen we move along quickly. Well, I’m celebrating these journey’s tonight for longer than 2 seconds, I’m letting it sit and soak in. However big or small an achievement, take more than a few breaths, smile, beam and then carry on :-)
‘Ellen the Adventurer’ (my new nik name for her). There was no tree un-climbed, no stretch of sand un touched as we rambled our way around Frensham Little Pond in Surrey a couple of late Monday evenings ago with two gorgeous dogs and fabulous Mum Maria in tow..
I recognise the tom boy spirit, that energy of youth + the props collected along the way came in VERY handy a little later on. We laughed, danced, ran + waded into the pond in the hope of capturing an awesome shot and not getting nibbled by the giant carp that inhabit the area.
The light, that summer light, later in the day, was divine and enriched colours + skin tones……bliss x
there are always funny moments, serious moments, moments of mania, dancing usually and lots of laughter and I am smiling sharing these moments in particular, the dancing and then the leggings rolled up to my knees in the water to get the shot because as we were walking I just in a split second saw a frame and knew if I ignored it I would regret it. The only way to get it was in the water too and hilariously Maria caught it! I am so pleased, I love behind the scenes ‘action’ pictures!! Thanks so much Maria xx
freedom feels like……….
The Light was dreamy and as I waited I found these awesome gems!!!
The Churchill Arms - apparently the local of Winston Churchill’s grandparents
Cake Smash Central!!
Poppy turned one a couple of weeks ago + we had so much fun creating pictures of her to celebrate her 1st birthday with Mum + Dad and older brother Leo - who’s cake smash also involved a million hundreds and thousands lol
What a super cute family and where on earth does time go?? I feel like two seconds ago I photographed Mum, Dad + Leo for his 1st birthday and hey presto! Poppy is one and we spent a fun Sunday afternoon capturing fun pictures to celebrate Poppy - I AM IN LOVE with her tutu and REALLY want an adult version!!
Keeping the consistency with the backdrop so images could be matched along side each other when displayed at home, I also found out the fun black chalk board style box from Leo’s session to use too!
Much hilarity and chuckles ensued and hundreds and thousands ran everywhere <3
and two years ago……such a cutie!!
When you get to work, ok I lie, when you get to spend the afternoon in a super stunning setting, basically falling in love with it AND then you get to create what you love to do, your heart sings + you feel full of positive vibes…that. Embrace that, smile, breathe it all in and then get to work….

Amazing Details √
ummm… my list is actually pretty endless lol
Textures, subtle colour, intricate details…..beautiful light. It is always amazing to observe a space as the light changes and witness how it’s look and feel changes too, the images below are a great example of this, strong shadows, bright light..
A certain ‘drama’ is added when shadows get involved, whether softer or a little starker.
Have an AMAZING weekend everyone!!! xx
